Supporting Regional Teens: Navigating Anxiety, Neurodivergence, and Self-Identity

March 6, 2025by Matthew0

There is increased anxiety this year with an impending election around the corner, but we are also seeing a lot of uncertainty in school children. Out in regional areas like Young, Grenfell and Cowra many children are suffering due to a lack of support in the country, and continuing anxieties around bullying, the future and the expectations of keeping in with peers and study.

More and more young people are struggling to get support across Australia and working with someone can be good to better understand where our anxieties come from. Another good thing with this is early intervention and work around values and self-identity at a young age is a good way to combat later emerging mental health issues.

Often teens benefit from chatting to someone and developing a better understanding of themselves and how to more effectively manage the many difficulties they are facing growing up. This can be imperative for teens with autism and neurodivergence in country and regional areas. They often struggle more due to increased social difficulties and isolation.

Working with Matthew can be useful both understanding neurodivergence and social difficulties kids have growing up. This will work with someone to find better, and less limiting ways to live their lives and manage their relationships. The overall aim is to both improve self-worth, confidence and identity in an adolescent.

More about Us

I entered the field of mental health after going through my own experiences a number of years ago. This created a passion to begin assisting others as I found it difficult to find and connect with professionals who didn’t get nor attempted to take the time to listen to and understand my story.
